I am final year engineering student from india. It seems like less number of companies are coming for placements this year due to covid. Many of my batch mates are worried about their future. Is there any alternative ways we can look for jobs?
You can explore startups and look for internships. Many startups are actively hiring right now.
Keep applying for jobs online on major job sites. Try bigger companies, not just campus placements. Update your LinkedIn profile to attract recruiters.
Try to build your skills in areas that are in demand now like AI, ML, cloud computing etc. Get some certifications if possible. This can boost your chances of getting a job.
Talk to your seniors and alumni network to get referrals for jobs. Leverage your college connections. Many companies hire through referrals.
