I’m a medical student in India and I feel constant anxiety and pressure. Studies are hectic and competition is tough. I’m finding it hard to cope up mentally. I don’t want my grades to suffer but I’m constantly worried. I also get mood swings and lose interest in hobbies. Is this normal? What can I do to manage stress and focus on studies? Any advice will help!

Try mindfulness meditation, yoga or exercising daily. Talk to friends and family about how you feel. Most importantly speak to a professional counselor, your college likely has resources to help. Your health comes first!

Prioritize taking breaks, eating well and sleeping enough hours. Talk to seniors about how they coped. Reach out to your friends and family for support. And remember, it’s okay to seek professional help if you feel you need it. Your wellbeing is important!

Try to identify your stress triggers and work on reducing them. Make time for hobbies you enjoy. Talk to a counselor – there’s no shame in seeking professional help. Don’t be so hard on yourself, take one day at a time and you’ll get through this! All the best.
