I am a second year BA (History) student. I would like to know how life is for arts students in India, especially after college. Is it difficult to get a good job? What are the career options? I am worried about my future after completing BA.Please share your experiences and advice.
Let me assure you that you have plenty of job options after completing BA in India. It all depends on how you utilise your college years. Develop good communication skills, learn software and online skills and explore various interests.
You can try for government jobs like teaching or applying for UPSC exams. Many companies also hire BA graduates for HR, marketing and PR roles. Civil services or defense services are also good options.
Pursuing higher studies like MA, LLB, MBA, journalism etc. can open up more doors for you. You can also try for content writing, editing, translation jobs. Many arts students enter civil services or defense forces after graduation.
Do not limit yourself thinking only science students get good jobs. Continue developing your interests, skills and strengths. Even entrepreneurship can be a viable option for you after gaining some experience.
