I’ve been spending more time on social media lately. I see all these posts from people having fun with their friends and spending time with their families. Meanwhile I’m sitting at home alone scrolling through my feed. Is social media making me feel lonelier? It’s easy to compare yourself to others and feel left out when seeing their perfect lives online.
June 6, 2023 at 4:10 pm #2713Social media can be misleading. People tend to only post the best moments, not the struggles. Comparing your whole life to someone else’s highlights reel isn’t a fair comparison. Try focusing on your own life and things that bring you joy offscreen. True connections come from in-person interactions, not social media.
June 6, 2023 at 4:12 pm #2714If social media is making you feel bad about yourself you should probably take a break! Nobody actually has a “perfect life.” Remember that what you see online is very curated and fabricated. Go talk to real friends and family, do your hobbies, and focus on living your own life offline for a while.
