I am a final year chemical engineering student in India preparing for placements. I am facing difficulty understanding different types of chemical reactions like acid-base reactions, precipitation reactions, and redox reactions. Can someone please explain the difference between these reactions in simple terms? Any tips to understand chemical reactions easier will be very helpful.
Precipitation reactions form an insoluble salt (precipitate) when two aqueous solutions of ions react. They occur when concentration of ions exceed their solubility in a particular solution.
Redox reactions involve the transfer of electrons between reactants. Oxidation is the loss of electrons and reduction is the gain of electrons.
