Hey everyone, I’m a medical student from India and I have a doubt regarding human anatomy. Can someone help me understand the difference between the axial and appendicular skeleton? I’m finding it a bit confusing. Thanks in advance!

The appendicular skeleton includes the upper and lower limbs, the pectoral girdle, and the pelvic girdle. It helps in movement and locomotion. Hope this clears your doubt!

November 2, 2023 at 10:56 am #6703The axial skeleton refers to the bones along the central axis of the body, including the skull, vertebral column, and rib cage. The appendicular skeleton, on the other hand, consists of the bones of the limbs and the bones that anchor them to the axial skeleton. Hope this clarifies it for you!
