I’m a second year medical student in India and confused about some techniques in Biochemistry practicals. Can someone explain how to prepare standard solutions and perform calorimetric estimations properly?
For colorimetric estimations, you need to make a standard curve using standard solutions of known concentrations. Plot the absorbance on the y-axis and concentration on the x-axis. The concentration of your unknown sample can then be determined from the standard curve.
Don’t forget to include a blank for calibration. Also be very precise while pipetting reagents to get accurate results. Proper dilution of samples is important as well. Let me know if you have any other specific doubts.
Lol it’s just making solutions , how hard can it be? Stop stressing over small things and focus on actually learning the theory. Practicals are just for show.
