I am student from tier 3 college in electrical engineering branch. We had our campus placements recently but most companies came for computer science and IT branches. Very few companies came for core branches like electrical and even those companies paid very less packages. I am confused about what to do after my graduation. Should I prepare for government jobs or do something on my own? Very demotivated as my friends from CS branch got good packages. Please suggest

Don’t lose hope. Campus placements are just one option. You have many other options like government jobs, higher studies, startups etc. Focus on your skills and do internships or projects relevant to your branch.

It’s difficult for core branches in tier 3 colleges. Focus on what interest you the most. If you want high packages, do masters from a good college which will open up more options. Otherwise government jobs or entrepreneurship are good options.

The companies that visited your college only cater to a certain demand. It does not mean there are no opportunities for your branch. Build a portfolio of your skills and projects and directly apply to companies relevant to electrical engineering. All the best!
