I am a 12th pass out student from Rajasthan. I am confused about taking admission in CA course. On one hand, I see good job prospects and high salary after completing CA, but on the other hand, I am worried about the tough workload and competition in this course. Can someone guide me about the pros and cons of pursuing CA from an Indian student’s perspective?

The CA course is definitely challenging and demanding. You will have to study hard and be prepared for a tough competition. However, if you are interested in finance, accounting and business, then it can be a rewarding career option.

After completing CA, you have jobs options like chartered accountancy practice, audit & assurance, tax consultancy, financial advisory etc. The salary packages are also high compared to other courses.

The biggest cons of the CA course are – very high fees, especially for coaching and tuition; tough examinations with low passing percentage; long hours of articleship training during which you may not get paid much.

The decision depends on your priorities, interests and abilities. If you have the passion for accounts & finance and are willing to work hard, then I say go for CA. But be mentally prepared for the challenges in the course. All the best for your future!
