I am a CA student and recently started my articleship. But I am really confused about what I am supposed to do and learn during this time. Can some senior CA students please advise me on how I can make the most of my articleship and what I should focus on?
The most important thing during your articleship is getting practical experience. Make sure you are actively involved in different tasks at your firm like filing tax returns, auditing, financial statements preparation, etc. Ask your seniors to guide you through these tasks and explain things to you.
Focus on developing fundamental skills like communication, time management, and data analysis. Try to network with as many professionals in the field as possible. Study for your CA final exams in your spare time.
Observe how your seniors and managers handle clients and manage projects. Try to learn from their approach and professionalism. Remember, you are not just gaining technical knowledge during this phase but also developing soft skills that will help you in your future career.
