I am a commerce student in grade 12 and I am quite confused about which entrance exam should I attempt for admission into top commerce colleges in India. Some of my senior friends recommended CA Foundation but I am not sure if I want to pursue Chartered Accountancy.

Hey! There are quite a few entrance exams available for commerce students like CAT, XAT, CMAT and others. Since you’re not sure about CA, I would recommend CAT which is for MBA admissions. It will leave you with more options in terms of specializations within business studies. All the best!

CA Foundation isn’t a bad idea tbh. During MBA you can always switch specializations but a CA qualification will remain with you for life. And there are many options within CA itself now like risk management, IT audit etc. ikr

Either CA or MBA will take hard work. I suggest you make a list of pros and cons and things you enjoy doing the most. Then choose based on that rather than what others recommend. All d best!

Whatever you choose, hard work is the key to success. Don’t worry too much about the entrance now, start preparing from next year. Lmk if you have any other questions!

IMO try for both CAT and CA Foundation. You’ll have more options that way and can always decide to give one of them up later. All the best, youve got this!
