I am a final year MBBS student in India and confused about my career options after completing MBBS. Can senior doctors please suggest some options other than PG for a fresher like me? I want to have a balance of good earning potential, manageable workload and job satisfaction.
You have plenty of options other than PG – like working as a medical officer in government or private hospitals, starting a clinic, joining a corporate hospital, or opting for a certification course in a specialized field like Dietetics, Dermatology, aviation medicine etc. It all depends on your interests and priorities.
If good income is your main criteria, then specializations like Radiology, Anesthesiology offer you highest paying jobs. But these are high workload. General Physician, OBGyn have manageable hours and decent income. Starting your own clinic is also a good option if you want flexibility in schedule.
