I don’t think there is a subject repetition rule for GATE. You can appear for the same subject any number of times as long as you are eligible to write the exam.

NEET is the only exam you need to give. Try focus on NEET study materials and tests now. You have less than a year left to prepare.

Go for a speciality which has good scope for higher studies and research if that interests you. Some specialties offer more opportunities for academic medicine.
