DE Shaw is currently seeking a resourceful candidate to join their Financial and Regulatory Reporting (FinR)/Management Company Accounting (MCA) team based out of offices in Hyderabad and Gurugram.
As an Industrial Trainee at DE Shaw, you will have the opportunity to work in a collegial, dynamic, and diverse environment as part of a highly skilled team.

Here’s a brief overview of what you’ll be doing day-to-day:
In the FinR team, you will:

Work on investor and legal entity financial reporting, including audits finalization and regulatory reporting for our hedge fund, benchmark relative fund, and private fund vehicles.

Collaborate with senior stakeholders during new fund launches and assist in setting up complex fund structures and transactions.

Conduct historical and projected analyses of fund performance and perform technical accounting analysis for complex financial instruments.

Handle bespoke requests from various internal and external stakeholders.

In the MCA team, you will:

Work closely with the office of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and business unit (BU) heads to provide key performance metrics for effective decision-making.

Conduct P&L analysis, expense allocation, budgeting, cash management, and financial and regulatory reporting for global management company entities.

Here’s what we’re looking for in an ideal candidate:

-Pursuing a Chartered Accountancy course, with CA-Inter/IPCC cleared in the first or second attempt, and a minimum of one year of articleship experience.

-CA final attempt scheduled for May 2025 or November 2025.

-Ability to uphold high standards, analyze rigorously, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively.

-High degree of intellectual curiosity, with knowledge of business intelligence tools and global accounting frameworks being an added advantage.
