I am an electrical engineering student but circuits is getting difficult .Can someone explain the difference between series and parallel circuits along with examples? It would be really helpful

In a series circuit, the components are arranged one after the other so that the current has to pass through each component in turn. The current through all components is the same. Batteries in torches are connected in series.

In a parallel circuit, the components are arranged side by side so that the current has multiple paths it can take. The voltage across each component is the same. Household electrical circuits are usually wired in parallel.
