I’m a third year MBBS student and feeling confused about my career options after MBBS. Can seniors please guide me on some good specializations and career paths I should consider? Backlogs and low scores in internals are stressing me out. What should I do to focus on studies along with working hard in practicals?
Don’t worry too much about backlogs and marks. Just focus on learning and gaining practical experience. The most important thing is finding a specialization you are genuinely interested in. Then work hard and gain as much exposure in that field as possible.
If you want stable career options, go for specializations like General Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics etc. But choose what really interests you the most. You will have to work hard for 10+ years in that field!
My advice would be to focus on your studies for now and gain as much clinical knowledge as you can. Try to spend more time with patients and senior doctors. The options will become clearer as you gain more exposure in your internship and residency years. All the best!
Make sure all your labels are clear, consistent and easy to read. Use a black pen or pencil and write the scientific bone names – don’t use slang or abbreviations. Be precise with your arrows and placements. Accuracy is key for anatomy!
